Curriculum Overview
At Chestermere Punjabi Academy, we believe language learning should be engaging, culturally rich, and skill-building. Our academic programs are designed to help students confidently read, write, speak, and understand Punjabi through structured lessons, interactive activities, and real-life application.

📘 Punjabi Beginner Level
A gentle introduction to the Punjabi language. Focus Areas: Punjabi alphabet (Gurmukhi) Basic sounds, vowels, and consonants Simple vocabulary (colours, numbers, animals, family) Tracing and writing practice Speaking confidence through songs & stories Outcome: Students recognize letters, write simple words, and speak basic Punjabi sentences.

📙 Punjabi Intermediate Level
Ideal for students with a basic foundation. Focus Areas: Word building (matras / laga matra) Reading short passages Grammar basics Conversational Punjabi Handwriting improvement Vocabulary expansion Outcome: Students begin reading fluently and expressing themselves confidently.

📕 Punjabi Advanced Literacy
For learners who want full proficiency in the Punjabi script. Focus Areas: Story reading & comprehension Paragraph writing Advanced grammar Cultural learning (folklore, traditions, history) Practical spoken Punjabi Outcome: Students gain full literacy and conversational fluency for everyday use.
Our Co-curricular Activities
Interactive Letter & Sound Practice
Students learn Punjabi letters, vowels, and consonants through tracing sheets, sound drills, and matching activities. Each worksheet reinforces recognition, pronunciation, and writing skills to build a strong literacy foundation.
Number, Colour & Shape Explorations
Through fun worksheets, children count objects, match numbers to words, and identify colours and shapes. Activities include colouring tasks, circle-the-correct-shape exercises, and number sequencing—making early math concepts easy and engaging.
Vocabulary Building with Family & Daily Life Words
Worksheets guide students to label family members, complete simple Punjabi sentences, and match pictures with words. These activities help learners connect language to real-life experiences, improving recall and confidence in speaking.
